Industry: Clothing. Service: Full Custom Product Development. Production: 100% Made in Italy.
When you already have your own designs (or a clear idea of how they should be), producing in Italy is a winning choice. But there is a real risk: between misunderstood instructions, the wrong suppliers, and samples that don’t work out, it is easy to lose control over time and costs. If you want to create a collection starting from scratch (technically called “Full Custom“), you need a method to transform your idea into a sellable product, without errors. Here is how we at 2306 Srl work to offer this result in 6 steps.
1. The technical project: clear instructions to avoid surprises
To get exactly what you have in mind, a vague idea isn’t enough. We must transform your project into precise technical instructions to avoid unforeseen costs. In this phase, we collect or develop a complete package with you:
-
Detailed Tech Packs for every single garment;
-
Precise indication of fabrics and Pantone references for colors;
-
Reference images for prints and customizations;
-
A sustainable target price range per model and an estimate of order volumes.
The advantage for you: the more detailed the instructions are at the start, the more the subsequent sampling phase will remain under control.
2. Supplier selection
Based on your specifications, we identify 2–3 Italian manufacturers that we deem ideal for that type of product and for your business reality. Our strategy is to ask each of them to develop the same sample. The advantage for you: without contacting suppliers that don’t suit your needs, you will have real alternatives on the table to compare and choose from. We create a sort of technical competition where you can compare real options, not just promises.
3. The decision: choose after seeing quality and prices
Once the samples are ready, we send them to you for a comparative evaluation. Along with the physical garment, we also provide you with the definitive prices for the finished garment proposed by each supplier. In this way, you can simultaneously analyze:
-
Fitting, construction, and build quality;
-
Actual production costs.
You choose the supplier only at this stage, identifying the one most in line with your quality and budget expectations.
4. The definitive sample (Pre-Production)
Once the best supplier is chosen, we formalize the order proposal and start the definitive development. The supplier creates a final sample for each model. This step is crucial: this garment becomes your reference standard (or “Master“) and must be 100% approved before moving any machine for production.
5. Modifications and Quality Control at the factory
Once the Pre-Production Sample is ready, we examine it carefully. Here we transform the sample into “definitive”. In our experience, thanks to the work done beforehand, in 95% of cases corrections are minimal and we give the immediate go-ahead for production. Only in 5% of cases is it necessary to redo the sample.
In this phase, to save you time, we handle the Quality Control on the pre-production sample directly at the supplier’s premises: we go to the factory, verify that measurements and details are compliant, and send you a report accompanied by photos and measurements. Only when this sample is 100% approved does it become the standard for production.
6. Production and delivery times
After your final approval, production begins. Before shipping the goods to you, we perform a final internal check to ensure everything is compliant.
Delivery times: The timing is never standard but is built together. We usually work starting from your ideal delivery date: you tell us when you want to receive the goods, and we create the work plan backwards to respect it. Keep in mind that the final speed also depends on how fast you are with approvals and the presence of custom accessories.
To give you a realistic idea of the production phase alone (from when you give the definitive OK to proceed):
-
Clothing: takes about 21–30 days (depending on quantities).
-
Knitwear: takes about 45–60 days (due to longer technical times).
In summary: what you get with 2306 Srl for your custom line
-
Exclusivity: a collection created from scratch based on your designs.
-
Security: choose the supplier based on proven quality and certain costs.
-
Savings: less time lost on wrong samples and useless shipments.
-
Simplicity: a single point of contact managing the whole process for you.
A real case: complex international management
We applied this process for a client who needed a fully customized Made in Italy collection, without using pre-existing bases. The project involved designs created internally and distribution in complex foreign markets (such as Chile, Mexico, Canada).
-
The challenge: Avoid production defects being discovered only at the destination, making returns impossible.
-
The solution: Thanks to on-site quality control (Phase 5) and the rigorous approval of the “Master” sample, we managed minimal corrections, entering production immediately and drastically reducing development times.
-
The result: A collection developed exactly according to specifications, with a fluid process despite the distance and total control over the final product.
Do you want to know if this is the right approach for your collection? If you already have models, Tech Packs, or even just an initial brief, we can evaluate the best path together: sourcing, sampling, and supplier selection, all the way to Made in Italy production and delivery.
